Podium was developed to address the global problem of death as a result of diabetic foot complications.
Using thermography and early detection of Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs), Podium helps reduce amputations
(Save Limbs) and the number of deaths (Save Lives).
The concept was developed as a result of a clinical trial in collaboration with the UK's
National Physical Laboratory (NPL), the
National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)
and 3 UK hospitals under the clinical lead of
King’s College Hospital
London (NHS Foundation Trust).
Following the trial we developed the Podium Professional device, selling from 2022 to private
podiatrists and clinicians and approved by the Royal College of Podiatry in September 2023.
Following the uptake within the professional sector, we are developing a home-use device ready for sale 2024.
